Supernatural

Theme: SUPERNATURAL

Quote: Macbeth: "Into the air; and what seem'd corporal melted as breath into the wind. Would they had stay'd"
Banquo: "Were such things here as we do speak about, or have we eaten on the insecure root. That takes the reason prisoner." (Act 1 Scene 3 Line 82-86)

This quote was stated by Macbeth and Banquo after the appearance of the witches giving predictions.
The quote by Macbeth is saying where did the witches go, they just vanished into thin air. The quote by Banquo is saying do these witches exist or are we on some special herb. Two examples of the theme supernatural is the witches and the predictions they made for Macbeth and Banquo. One purpose of this quote was to introduce the theme supernatural which at the time the people were interested in, so it would keep the audience in full interest. The predictions gives Macbeth a positive vibe towards becoming king but they were not 100% sure that they actually saw the witches. This scene is basically foreshadowing whats going to happen in the future of the play.

Theme: SUPERNATURAL

Quote: Macbeth: "I have thee not, and yet I see thee still art thou not, fatal vision, sensible to feeling as to sight? Or art though but a dagger of the mind, a false creation, proceeding from the heat-oppressed brain?"

In this scene Macbeth is talking to floating dagger as he is trying to decide weather or not he has the courage to kill the king. The quote is saying that he see's a dagger but does not understand weather he it's a false creation or he has fatal vision because he can see it but can't touch it. This is supposed to be the dagger that he is going to use to kill the king with. This was to show more of the supernatural part of the play which the people liked at the time. This scene was too spook Macbeth in a sign of what he's going to do next in the play.

Theme: SUPERNATURAL
Quote: Macbeth: "Avalint! And quit my sight! Let the earth hide thee! Thy bones are marrowless, thy blood is cold; Thou hast no speculation in those eyes, which thou dost glare with."

In this scene Banquo's ghost shows up at king Macbeth's is dinner sitting and scares Macbeth, causing him to to freak out in front the whole table. He is the only one that see's him. The quote is saying to hide him from being seen and his figure is ghostly, he cannot believe his eyes that he is seeing Banquo. Banquo was looking for revenge and since Macbeth gave the excuse that Banquo was running late but actually his ghost was sitting right there so that Macbeth could not forget what he had done. Supernatural was used to spook Mackbeth and emphasize revenge.

Theme: SUPERNATURAL
Quote: First Apparition: "Macbeth! Macbeth! Macbeth! Beware Macduff; Beware the thane of fife. - Dismiss me.- Enough." act 4 scene 1 line 71-72

In this scene Macbeth goes back to visit the witches and they give him three apparitions, including this one that is warning Macbeth the thane of fife which is Macduff, Examples of supernatural in this scene is they give Macbeth apparitions of the future. The purpose of this quote is tell Macbeth to watch out of what lyes ahead for him.

Pop culture reference: In shakespeare's time they believed in supernatural things such as witches. In todays society were seen witches too many times and were more about a body coming back to life zombies form. Just like all the videos games call of duty to the walking dead their is a lot on about zombies.
